Nona Hendryx was born October 9th 1944 in Trenton, New Jersey. She is well known for her work both as a solo artist as well as for being one-third of the trio Labelle, who had a hit with ‘Lady Marmalade.’ Her family’s last name was originally spelt with an ‘I’ – she is the cousin to Jimi Hendrix.
