Parliament, originally The Parliaments, was a soul funk band most prominent during the 1970s, though originally based at a Plainfield, New Jersey barbershop. Both Parliament and its sister act, Funkadelic, were led by George Clinton. The group had their initial hit single in 1967 with “(I Wanna) Testify” on Revilot Records.
