Life ain't pretty in the naked city
Life ain't pretty at all

Englishman Robert “Bucket” Hingley relocated to New York City in 1980, forming The Toasters a year later in 1981. Whilst managing a comic store, Hingley saw The Beat perform at the Roseland Ballroom, leading to the formation of the band. The Toasters were one of the first American bands in the third wave of ska, and are one of the longest active third wave ska bands. They have released nine studio albums, most of them on Moon Ska Records.
